Industry Overview
In aerospace, a casting defect is not a quality issue — it is a safety issue. That is why every aerospace drawing submitted to PrimeCast Global is reviewed by our lead casting engineer, who spent 30 years in aerospace manufacturing and has personally reviewed tooling for J-11 fighter aircraft components. He evaluates wall thickness, gate placement, solidification sequence, and material selection before a single gram of metal is poured. Our investment casting capability covers titanium Ti-6Al-4V, Inconel 718, cobalt-chrome, and 17-4PH stainless — the materials that define aerospace manufacturing. We provide full material heat number traceability, third-party NDT (X-ray, FPI, MPI), and first article inspection reports as standard. If your drawing has a DFM issue that will cause porosity or dimensional drift, we will find it before it costs you time and money.
Common Industry Challenges
- →Flight-critical components require zero-defect quality — no acceptable defect level
- →Titanium, Inconel 718, and cobalt alloys require specialized process knowledge and tooling
- →Complex thin-wall geometries (down to 1.5mm) with internal passages and undercuts
- →Full material heat number traceability and third-party NDT documentation required
- →AS9100 / NADCAP-aligned quality processes and first article inspection reports
Our Solutions
- Investment casting for complex aerospace components — CT4–CT6 tolerance, Ra ≤1.6μm
- 30-year aerospace casting specialist reviews every drawing — J-11 fighter component experience
- Full material heat number traceability and certification documentation on every shipment
- Third-party NDT: X-ray, fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI), magnetic particle inspection (MPI)
- First article inspection (FAI) reports with full dimensional layout and material certification

Aerospace Structural Bracket: From 6-Piece Weldment to Single Investment Casting
A flight-critical structural bracket required 6 separate machined and welded pieces, creating fatigue risk at weld joints and failing AS9100 inspection requirements.
Redesigned as a single investment casting in 17-4PH stainless. Weight reduced 18%, weld joints eliminated, first article passed AS9100 inspection with zero deviations.
